Our BIM group is led by experienced BIM Managers and Engineering principals that focus on BIM development. Their effort has created a system of excellence in BIM modeling/management. With over 500 projects encompassing several markets, our BIM experience has built a knowledge base that results in successful projects time and time again. TBA’s SMEPT BIM designers and technicians have utilized BIM in the production of complex projects that benefit from well coordinated documents that link seamlessly with the architect’s, contractor’s, and other consultant’s models.
Our staff is dedicated to developing improved methods for modeling buildings to achieve a more efficient and coordinated process that takes advantage of custom families, smart schedules, clash detection and the numerous other features to help produce a model that is integrated with the architectural models. In addition, those features assist the entire design and construction team in the development of a more coordinated and efficient building for the owner. Our development staff meets on a periodic basis to discuss innovation in the BIM modeling and design process to leverage the software’s capabilities. TBA integrates the latest analytical software available for structural analysis and energy modeling as well as Revit and Navisworks software to provide optimization of the structural, MEP and technology systems for the building.
The design and construction team collaboration enhances the overall building design and construction. Our BIM kickoff meeting with the design team is a key factor in starting the BIM modeling process correctly and in a coordinated manner. Our staff communicates on a daily basis with the design team and exchanges models on a periodic basis throughout the project's design phases to coordinate and integrate the building modeling systems exchanging models on a periodic basis throughout the design phases. Our staff has also collaborated on several projects utilizing either IPD format or A360 allowing for “live” model updates with the entire design and construction team.
TBA participated and assisted in the development of the State of Ohio BIM protocol for implementation of Building Information Modeling techniques and systems on Ohio Capital improvement projects. We have presented a session entitled “Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration with Revit” at the AIA Ohio Convention and we take an active role in the Northeast Ohio Revit users group.
