TBA has designed over 75 million square feet of retail projects including open-air centers, mixed-use developments, regional malls, retail and outlet centers, anchor stores, and retail stores throughout the United States. Our retail experience also includes the development of national standards for a number of national retailers establishing prototype design standards.

“Open-Air Centers” have taken center stage in the retail market nationwide. These upscale retail and entertainment centers are designed to provide a nostalgic “Main Street” with a downtown community center experience.

Mixed-use developments bring together residential, work, restaurant, and retail spaces with creative design solutions. A variety of live-work units, residential, community centers, offices, retail, and parking structures are included in these urban mixed-use developments. Sustainable design is occasionally a consideration with design solutions that have included landscaped roof terraces and plazas.

In addition to new construction, TBA’s nationwide retail experience nationwide includes renovation, urban renewal, and redevelopment of new and existing structures as well as historic buildings, converting existing spaces for new revitalized urban retail centers.
