Did you know that HVAC and plumbing systems in dormant or partially used buildings can be breeding grounds for COVID-19 and other viruses, Legionella, mold, and mildew and need to go through a disinfection protocol in order to safely re-open?
We imagine you have many concerns how you can continue to operate your building or “open it up” safely during COVID-19 conditions.
TBA would like to help you.
Long before COVID-19 hit the United States, TBA worked with Architects, Owner’s, ASHRAE, contractors and manufacturers to provide healthier buildings through the use of mechanical ventilation and indoor air quality controls, filtration, dehumidification, water quality control, and construction flush out and sanitation procedures.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, TBA has continued to serve essential and critical medical, government and private operations and made itself available to the AIA and USACE COVID-19 response efforts. We have learned new avenues for funds available for healthier HVAC equipment through state pricing, FEMA funds and AEP incentives. Through ASHRAE, the CDC and OSHA, TBA stayed abreast of the latest means available to combat viral and bacterial health threats in buildings. These include advanced air filtration, building pressure and airflow control to contain or exclude viruses, UV and positive ION sterilization, water treatment, flushing and flow maintenance to mitigate Legionella and bacteria in plumbing.
TBA is involved with our clients and their contractors planning on how to continue or resume construction or to reopen buildings, including safety protocols for workers and how to prepare the HVAC and water systems in buildings where construction was slowed or halted or buildings that were shut down during the COVID quarantine period.
Among these have been HVAC and plumbing system procedures or operational changes such as pre-opening air purging, coil, duct and system cleaning, post occupancy increased ventilation, filter changes to higher efficiency filters, ultraviolet light sterilization, electrostatic precipitator filtration and water system sterilization to mitigate Legionella or bacteria that can form in dormant or minimally used buildings.
Let us know how TBA can help you move forward as safely as possible.
